Old Legend.. nice concept!

This was posted by a friend of mine however I just had to pass it along. The original author is unknown.

According to an old Hindu legend...

..there was once a time when all human beings were gods, but they so

abused their divinity that Brahma, the chief god, decided to take it

away from them and hide it where it could never be found.

Where to hide their divinity was the question. So Brahma called a

council of the gods to help him decide. "Let's bury it deep in the

earth," said the gods. But Brahma answered, "No, that will not do

because humans will dig into the earth and find it." Then the gods

said, "Let's sink it in the deepest ocean." But Brahma said, "No, not

there, for they will learn to dive into the ocean and will find it."

Then the gods said, "Let's take it to the top of the highest mountain

and hide it there." But once again Brahma replied, "No, that will not

do either, because they will eventually climb every mountain and

once again take up their divinity." Then the gods gave up and

said, "We do not know where to hide it, because it seems that there

is no place on earth or in the sea that human beings will not

eventually reach."

Brahma thought for a long time and then said, "Here is what we will

do. We will hide their divinity deep in the center of their own

being, for humans will never think to look for it there."

All the gods agreed that this was the perfect hiding place, and the

deed was done. And since that time humans have been going up and down

the earth, digging, diving, climbing, and exploring--searchin g for

something already within themselves.

5 things you SHOULD do while single!!

You may not be able to see it now, but the single life offers a rare opportunity wherein you have no one to answer to or for but yourself. It's a time when you can make your dreams come true - or just sit on the couch, whatever you want since you dictate the rules sans co-pilot. When the time comes to settle down (and the right person will one day come along), gone will be the days of unplanned weekends and completely self-centered whimsy. So fill up while you can! Life is for living and your single years are a great time to do it!

1. Get a hobby

Sounds simple enough, but the truth is many of us get so used to our routines that we never get passed the "I wish I knew how to..." stage. Now is the time to take action! If you've spent years thinking guitar players are so cool and wanting to be one, buy an inexpensive guitar start taking lessons. Hint: You can even find them online! If you've delighted in gourmet meals courtesy of your parents' picking up the tab, get a cook book and teach yourself a few kitchen tricks. Naked Chef Jamie Oliver is a personal favorite for gourmet meals that are simple to make (after all, his idea was that any of his college drinking buddies could follow his recipes). No matter what the thing is you've wanted to do, do it! You'll get loads of pleasure out of the experience - and the experience of taking intiative. Your new hobby (and feeding your spirit) will be there in or out of your relationship and will help you remain a whole person when you do become half of a couple!

2. Learn to take care of yourself

Guys may not care to know how to sew buttons (girls may not either, but you get the point). Likewise, females may not be interested in hooking up computer hard drives. But the thing is, if you know how to do everything you need to do to take care of yourself and run your household, rather than just assuming someday someone will come along and do it for you, you'll be in a lot better position. First of all, you'll get a lot more done around the house and have a lot less reason to panic or stress. Secondly, self-reliance is incredibly attractive. Nobody wants a needy, ineffective mate, but one who can show you a thing or two sounds pretty darn sexy! After all, there's got to be some logic behind all the pics of pinups with power tools!

The ART of Lingerie using Astrology

Pretty lingerie is highly underestimated when it comes to the power it has to spice up your life. Make your fantasies come true with one of life's great pleasures, by exploring the universe of lingerie - astrologically. Your sun sign can predict the looks that will help you feel good all under, all day. Plus, it can bring you compliments and kisses in your boudoir at night.

Aries: Tomboy Chic
You'll turn down, the obvious frilly, sexy stuff and avoid a bra if you can, so head straight for a casual yet elegant red hot or cool white cami and boy shorts combo instead. Sexually confident, you'll love the surprise of bringing your lover to their knees in strategically buttoned classic boxer PJs in colorful stripes or solids.

Taurus: Comfy Sensuality
Since retail therapy is one of your fave pastimes, when you head for the lingerie department, indulge yourself in soft, silky bras and high leg panties in springy soft shades of green, blue, yellow and brown. You love the way silk and satin feels against your body, so when you slip into something comfortable after hours, choose satiny pajamas or a soft nightie that begs to be touched.

Gemini: Hard and Soft
To soothe both sides of your Lolita-like lingerie nature, choose a lacy, frilly mix and match bra and panty set for day. Have something mischievous ready for evening action (leather perhaps?) or a selection of oh-so-sexy baby-doll outfits, a flirty demi-bra and thong panties worn under a sheer, naughty top, to bring out the girl and the woman in you. As a Gemini, role play is one of your best assets.

Cancer: Demure Femininity
Cancer women tend to feel like they have too much or too little on top. Therefore, the right bra is one of your most important concerns. When you find the styles that boost your confidence, buy them in soft shell shades of white, gray and silvery blue with matching bottoms in several styles to fit your fashion moods. Long or short, an unfussy sensual chemise and matching robe in a vintage look will bring out your deeply romantic, sexual side.

Leo: Flaunt It
Hi-end designer to-die-for-lingerie is always next to your skin both day and night. You won't spare any expense to look rich and sexy under your clothes, even if you're the only one who knows it. For the boudoir, be daring in anything tastefully sexy, from a bustier set that's elegant, not trashy, to a flamboyant little costume that shows off your best assets, in your favorite theatrical color - gold.

Virgo: Sexy to Perfection
Neat, classic and unfussy, Virgo's prefer to be perfectly pulled together with the most stylishly functional lingerie underneath - but remember matched sets can come in some perfectly yummy under-things, too. Confident Virgo gals also understand the magic of layering as a tactic to get a lover to dig for her buried passions. Leave your dressing room in a new silk robe and lace chemise in one of your feel-good shades of navy, sable or black, and he'll be undressing you layer, by layer in no time.

Can Your Ex Threaten Your Current Relationship?

Your Ex Girlfriend's Qualities - A Possible Threat To Your Present Relationship?
By: Ovi Dogar

You are out from a long time relationship; no matter if she left you or you have left her. You are free now to do what you want and to meet who you want, when you want.

After a while you feel that you are ready to get in a new relationship. You even have met a nice girl who looks like she is interested in you. Slowly, things are getting more serious and you get to know better your new partner.

But something is bothering you, and you don't know what it is. Than you realize that she is not doing things like you were used to be done, she is not doing things like your ex used to make them (it's not about all things, but those you loved at your ex).

Last days I have met a friend of mine I haven't seen for a long time. It was a surprise for me when a nice girl comes to us, and he has introduced her like his girlfriend. I didn't know that he has broken up with his ex, which is a very sexy, feminine woman.

After, his new girlfriend left, I asked my friend what happened with his ex and how things are going in his new relationship. He told me that he's in this new relationship for over 7 months, his girlfriend is a nice woman and he has nothing to blame her.

But, something is missing. He was used to be with a very feminine woman, which enjoyed her woman qualities all the time. He confessed me that it is very difficult for him to get used to live without some things which he has experimented before and he knows that does exist.

He also told me something that made me smile: "If I could take my ex qualities and put them next to my new partner's qualities I would make the perfect women for me." :)

But how good it could be if we would be able to make the perfect woman? Not so good as we all think, believe me. I say it all the time, perfection is boring.

However, a person after a breakup has to think mostly to the reasons for the breakup with his ex and not to her qualities. I am sure that you have very good reasons to break up with a person which who you have spend years together.

Relief you from your past relationship and let your new girlfriend make you happy in her own way. Learn to enjoy your girl's qualities and personality and don't make your ex girlfriend's qualities a problem for your present or future relationships.

Premonition? or Imagination?

If you've seen Sandra Bullock's latest movie, Premonition, you know that the gift of clairvoyance isn't just about happy things, like guessing the right lottery numbers or predicting the winner of a baseball game. Sometimes being able to perceive the future can be down-right scary.

Psychics are able to hone their gifts so that when they sense the future, they know how to understand it. But what happens when ordinary people like you (or Sandra Bullock!) have a premonition? How do you know when you're really sensing the future - and when your imagination has just run wild?

Possible Premonition #1: You dream you show up late for a big presentation at work -- naked.
Just because you dream about showing up to work naked, doesn't mean you actually will! This is a classic "anxiety dream" - a common occurrence when you're feeling pressured by a demanding boss, a hectic work environment or a stressful deadline.

Dreams aren't always a vision of your future - sometimes they're ways for your mind to cope with what's going on in the present. Of course, if you're under that much pressure at work, it's probably a good idea to make sure you show up to meetings on time (and fully-clothed).

The verdict: Imagination run wild.

Possible Premonition #2: You're overcome with the feeling you're going to get a traffic ticket.
If you have no reason to fear being pulled over by a cop, then chances are this premonition is another symptom of anxiety. Like the dream, this sense is a way for your body and mind to cope with some other stresses in your life.

But if you're driving around with expired license plates, a missing taillight, or worse, it doesn't take a psychic gift to realize you're eventually going to catch the eye of a police officer ready to give you a citation. Sometimes our "premonitions" are just little notes from our brain, reminding us to take care of nagging worries

The verdict: Common-sense conclusion.

Possible Premonition #3: You're daydreaming about your new boyfriend, when you suddenly see a flash of him with another woman.
If you're prone to jealousy or have a history of unfaithful men, you can't take this one too seriously. Your subconscious insecurities may be feeding your imagination.
But if the vision truly came out of nowhere, it might be worth investigating further. If you tend to trust blindly, slow down and pay attention to what's really going on. Don't abandon your trust altogether - just make sure his words and actions add up. If they don't, your vision just might be a real premonition.

The verdict: Could be the real deal.

Think you've sensed the future? Not sure? If you're trying to figure out whether your vision is imagination run wild, a common-sense conclusion, or the real deal, it's time to consult an expert.

FAQ ON MAGICK

FAQ ON MAGICK

What is magick?

Before answering what magick is, let's define what it isn't. It isn't Bewitched twitching her nose, it isn't Gandalf or Merlin, or playing dungeon and dragons and it isn't three old hags toiling over a bubbling cauldron under the full moon chanting bad rhymes. Magick is being able to use your natural abilities to bring about change.

According to Aliester Crowley, "Magick is the science and art of causing change in conformity with will." Science is the reductive process that gives us theory; art is the creative process that gives us application thus causing changes to occur. Magick is the process by which we incorporate our science and art to create changes with our will. Or in simpler terms, if you can imagine it happening, it will. (Drury & Tillett, pages 41-42)

One keynote about magick is that magick itself will not work without action. You need to seek out your objective- what are you using magick to obtain. Casting a spell for a job won't work unless you actually go out and look for one; all the spell does is heighten your chances.

There have been cases of what is called spontaneous magick, magick that was called upon. This however is misleading, as often the human subconscious will call upon magick without the use of formal action. While the conscious mind did not call upon the forces to make changes the subconscious does and it is still the person calling upon the forces and not just a gift from the gods.

Is A Career As A Medical Intuitive Or Energy Medicine Practitioner Right For You?

The science of Energy Medicine is simple. Here, energy is the medicine. Energy Medicine is based upon the philosophy that we are all filled with a subtle life force energy that animates us, giving us life. Energy medicine practitioners believe that an imbalance in the movement of our life force energy can profoundly impact us. These imbalances can interfere with our ability to be ourselves. They can prevent us from feeling whole and keep us from experiencing a state of inner peace, happiness and contentment.

Energy Medicine uses our intentions and imagination to facilitate the releasing of stagnant life force energy from the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. Even a small amount of stagnant energy can leave us feeling out of sorts or un-centered. Replaying traumatic situations over and over in our mind, feeling depressed, irritated, hurt or ungrounded are all an expression of an imbalanced energy flow. Over time, these imbalances can cause aches and pains in the body and if left unchecked can manifest as physical diseases such as diabetes, gallbladder dysfunction, high blood pressure and cancer.

Energy Medicine allows us to restore the movement of subtle energy in the body. It can be used to help us eliminate discordant beliefs, emotional blockages, as well as revitalize our organs, glands and tissues. With it, health can prevail.

Medical Intuition, in turn, refers to the ability to assess health on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. Medical Intuition allows the practitioner to "look" into a person's body and evaluate the health and function of the organs and glands, the muscles and bones and any other physiological system within the body. In addition, medical intuitives are able to help identify the limiting thoughts, discordant beliefs and emotional traumas that can underscore disease and interfere with our ability to heal.

Medical intuition, in and of itself, is an evaluative tool. In the strictest sense of the word, a medical intuitive is not someone who dispenses recommendations or provides advice. Their function is to evaluate and identify issues and imbalances, reporting their findings to their client. It can be likened to someone getting a cat scan or having a blood test done – data is collected and evaluated and the results are reported to the treating physician whose responsibility it is to identify a disorder and provide a solution. From this perspective, information regarding problem resolution is traditionally not found under the umbrella of medical intuition.

Medical Intuition and Energy Medicine are among the most exciting and rewarding career choices available today. As medical costs continue to rise and people become increasingly aware of the risks associated with chemical and surgical treatments, they are seeking out alternative ways of addressing their health concerns. This puts Medical Intuitives, Intuitive Counselors and Energy Medicine Practitioners in great demand.

The fields of Medical Intuition and Energy Medicine is a great choice for anyone interested in exploring the principles of alternative health, healing and the disease process. It is for people who want to learn more about why people get sick and how to help individuals identify the mental, emotional or spiritual issues that manifest themselves as physical discomfort or disease. It is also for individuals interested in finding out more about the energetic systems in the body, how to work with them and how to transform energetic imbalances into patterns of health and wellness.

Well trained practitioners in the fields of medical intuition and energy medicine come prepared with a deep understanding of how to detect, evaluate and transform the subtle energy systems within the body. By utilizing practical methods for pinpointing illness and imbalances they are able to provide details about how these imbalances affect the body's ability to function properly. They will also possess specific techniques for working with subtle energy and correcting energetic imbalances that may underscore a person's ability to experience radiant health.

The most fascinating thing about working as a medical intuitive or energy medicine practitioner is that everyone has the ability to develop the skills necessary to work in these fields. So if you're sensitive to energy, want to explore the world beyond the five senses or are looking for a new career as an alternative health care practitioner? Then working as a medical intuitive or energy medicine practitioner may be right for you.

Herbs For Relaxation

The effects of stress and anxiety can be devastating to body, mind and spirit. The breakdown of body systems due to a constant state of emotional pressure, worry and nervous tension has been the subject of numerous scientific studies. Stress causes the cardiovascular system to become imbalanced. The muscles becomes tense. The gastrointestinal tract does not function properly when the emotions are out of whack. Mental concentration becomes difficult and the immune system becomes weakened when we are in the stress mode. Stress causes disease.

To be healthy, we must learn to relax. I’d like to share a few of my favorite natural remedies for relaxation. They include humor, regular workouts, breathing techniques and music. Herbal teas are pleasant to sip and enjoy. Many herbs have natural compounds that help to balance the nervous system and give us a feeling of peace. Warm baths with calming herbs like lavender and chamomile are also helpful for combating the effects of stress.

Good hearty, belly-felt laughter really is the best medicine. The kind of laughter that brings tears to the eyes also helps to balance the cardiovascular system. It can even help to lower the blood pressure in many cases. Don’t you feel relaxed and at peace after watching a truly funny movie or reading a humorous book? Laughter eases emotional tension, relaxes the muscles and boosts the immune system. Try to find humor in situations that create stress in your life. Train your brain to make light of situations that would otherwise make you tense and anxious. Humor is healing.

Exercise is another natural stress-buster. A good brisk walk in the park is a great, natural way to ease tension. It’s good for all of the body systems and it’s uplifting to the emotions. Strengthen the heart, lungs and circulatory system while you clear your mind. The immune system is boosted with regular exercise and of course your muscles love a workout. Exercise is good medicine for banishing the effects of stress.

You’ve heard the good advice “just take a deep breath.” It’s true. The act of deep breathing can relax the whole body and create a sense of peace within your self. Many doctors even prescribe these techniques to their “stressed-out” patients. Add meditation and lovely music to the simple breathing exercises and you have created your own special therapy. Devote at least 15 minutes a day for relaxation and you will soon feel much more tranquil.

Herbal baths of lavender, marjoram, chamomile are inexpensive to make and they can be very

effective for promoting rest. These herbs soothe tense muscles and their aromas have a calming effect on the emotions. Herbal teas and baths can also help you cope with stress and anxiety. Dried herbs can be made into pleasant teas that can become part of your daily relaxation ritual. A cup of lemon balm, chamomile, St. John’s Wort or hop flower tea can help you to bring about a sense of serenity after a hectic day. Alone or in pleasant combinations, herbs are a calming alternative to drinks laden with caffeine and sugar. Here are some of my favorite serenity tea herbs.

Valerian root (Valeriana officinalis) is a very effective calming remedy. Tea from this root can make you feel calm and collected. A cup before bed may be just what you need to unwind and shed the angst you may have accumulated from a hectic day. Valerian root is great for coping with anxiety and emotional stress. It can be a great help for those who suffer from insomnia. Valerian never makes you groggy or feeling dull the next day. You wake up refreshed and feeling balanced. One or two teaspoons of the dried and chopped root is good for a bedtime cup of tea. Valerian root has a very pungent and distinct odor that takes getting used to. I have grown to rather enjoy its unusual scent. Capsules are an alternative to tea if the scent is unacceptable to you.

Catnip (Nepeta cataria) is also calming. It is especially helpful when the stress is felt in the tummy. It is also popular as a remedy for restless children. Herbalist Rosemary Gladstar has many recipes to promote calm children in her book Herbal Remedies for Children’s Health. Many of these blends include for catnip leaf as a major ingredient. Other herbs such as lemon balm and chamomile can be added to the catnip to disguise its somewhat bitter taste. Add just of pinch of stevia leaf (a natural, non-caloric sweetener) to the cup to make it more palatable to a child’s taste buds. Safe and non-toxic catnip is a must for the herbal medicine chest. It’s good for adults as well as children.

Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) is a gentle but effective soothing tea ingredient. It is also safe and effective for people of all ages. Its flavor is delicate and reminiscent of apples. A cup of chamomile tea is a wonderful beverage in the evening. It is a simple and pleasant drink to help the everyone in the family get a peaceful night’s sleep.

Hop flower tea (Humulus lupulus) is also very relaxing and can help one to unwind in the evening and promotes restful sleeps. Hop flowers have an unusual odor, but I actually find it rather pleasant. One or two teaspoons of dried hop flower per 6 ounces of hot water make a soothing nighttime drink. Dried hop flower can also be stuffed into sleep pillows. Hop flower pillows were very popular as a sleep aid in the days before pharmaceuticals. These pillows were thought to be an aid against nightmares. I like to make an herbal sleep pillow blend of equal parts hops, lavender and chamomile.

These herbs can be used alone as an herb “simple” or they can be combined to make wonderful

blends. If teas are not convenient for you, look for capsules containing one or combinations of these rest-inducing herbs. Alcohol tinctures (if tolerated) can also be handy for times when you need fast relief from anxiety and stress. Look for them at your favorite health food store. These herbs are good medicine, however it is not wise to exceed recommended dosages. If you are on medications, check with your health care practitioner before using herbal remedies for relaxation and sleep.

Learn about these simple, healthful relaxation techniques. They can help you to cope with stress in a gentle, non-toxic manner without side effects. Rent a hilarious video and let the belly laughs begin. Notice how you feel after watching it. Aren’t you more relaxed and uplifted? Many local hospitals offer stress management classes for the community. Contact the Community Education Department at the hospital near you for availability. Public libraries carry books and music about meditation, relaxation exercises as well as herbal recipe books. With the busy holiday season just around the corner, it would be wise to start your respite ritual as soon as possible. Take time for tranquility. Enjoy an herbal bath or brew as part of your wind down routine and you will soon healthier and more balanced.

How To Ask Him Out

4 Tactics That Work!

Are you guilty of taking a passenger seat in your personal life? Move over! We hear time and again that the burden of posing the question is a responsibility most men don't relish. Let's face it, if you wait for him, it might not happen!

It's time to be the open and confident woman you are. Forget subtlety, your best hints will only slip under his radar. Shy types, don't fear, you don't have to be super-forward either. The key is to be clear, but casual. Look for an opening, and if you don't see one, make one!

The Payback
If a man you've been eying goes out of his way for you, seize the moment as the golden opportunity it is. He picks up the tab for coffee? Offer to return the favor sometime. He gives you a ride, offers helpful advice and introduces you to a professional contact? Then you totally owe him lunch (or dinner!) for that. Offering to "pay him back" is a playful and relatively safe way to say you appreciate his efforts ... and would like to see more of him.

The Mission
Should a local attraction come up in conversation (or you make sure it does), make a mission of discovering it together. It works for restaurants and martini bars as well as museums and theme parks, and it doesn't take much. At the mention of somewhere interesting, casually suggest, "We should go sometime." Unless he's completely dense, he'll pick up the cue. If you want to be a bit bolder, seal the deal yourself with a sly "Wanna check that out with me next week?" Make an offer that is clear and immediate and you're likely to get the same in return.

The Premiere
Bring up the movies (hopefully there's something out you both want to see). Then give him an opening. "We should go see it this week." If you feel more comfortable with a cover, add that your friends aren't really into the flick or have already seen it. This one's great because you've given him a wide open invitation. He knows the way is safe, and still has the chance to do the aggressive guy thing.

The Tip
It's never a bad idea to tap his mind, just try to make it an honest question. Are you looking for a good cyber café near the office? Something to do after work? He just might have some insights (and be interested in keeping you company).

And if you know anything about him, ask a question in the realm of his expertise. If he works in computers, you might get his help on a technical question or ask for advice on a reasonable upgrade. If he's an artsy type, stick to the arts. Maybe you're not in on the scene and are looking for a good art opening. With luck, he'll be happy to take a look at your Mac or escort you to the event. At the very least, you'll get a decent tip and owe him dinner for the trouble.

Are You In A Creative Void?

Coping With Spiritual Timing
Blocked? Frustrated? Know you are doing things right yet there still doesn't seem to be any movement towards getting your goal. Spiritual Timing may be the answer. To determine if Spiritual Timing is the cause of your delay, you must first ask these questions.

Are You:

* Trying to control the situation?
* Worrying about what people will think?
* Confusing happiness with fulfillment of desire?
* Insisting that your way is the only right way?
* Rationalizing your situation to maintain your own independence?
* Living in the past or future and not in the moment?
* Trying to stop change?
* Setting up too rigid goals and paths to manifest your goal?
* Setting up expectations for outcomes?
* Trying too much or too hard to fulfill your desires?
* Using the ego to set up significance, projections, feelings or attitudes towards accomplishment of your goal?

If you answered YES, to some or all of these questions, it may be your personal growth that is stopping you from actualizing your goal.

If you answered NO to all these questions, the next step is to find out if you are in a place that I call the Creative Void.Click here to read more

Enchanted News: Life is not a fairy tale

Enchanted News: Life is not a fairy tale

Life is not a fairy tale

No one likes hearing bad news, but unless you live in a bubble, it's fairly unavoidable. No, scratch that -- even completely internal realizations can be stumbling blocks. We have certain preconceptions about who we are, who others are and how life works. When you discover a glitch in the blueprint, you have to scramble to adapt the plan. Trust that you and your decisions will be stronger for it. Here are a few reminders on how to cope with unexpected let-downs.

Do: Process
Ignorance is hardly bliss. Yet our first instinct is to ignore an unpleasant reality for as long as possible. We stay in relationships long after they're over, put a happy face on strained friendships and pursue careers we don't really want. Resist the urge to bury your head in the sand.

Telling yourself to "just get over it" is an unrealistic. Grieving -- whether you're grieving a friend, a relationship or a dream -- is an active process. Write in a journal. Even people who don't do any personal writing can find it a helpful way through a crisis. Talking to friends or to a trusted advisor is another crucial coping skill that can accelerate your process. Remember, we usually have to see a scenario from multiple angles before we can truly accept it. Talking your way through the problem, even if it seems repetitive, is an effective way to come up with solutions for those things we can change and accept those we cannot.

Don't: Dwell
The process is important, but giving yourself permission to explore a crisis fully is not the same as locking yourself in a room with it. Stay busy. If you're holed up somewhere thinking about it, it's not long before your bad news takes center stage. You don't have to work through it all at once, and you don't have to do it alone. Your mind will still be churning when you're on the treadmill, at the movies and on the beach with friends.

Do: Move On
Once you come to a conclusion, take your own advice. Take steps to solve the problem or commit to accepting the loss. You relationship isn't working out? Start that dialogue with your partner, and begin looking ahead. Your job isn't making you happy? Search for new opportunities, even new career paths. Just getting a glimpse of what else is out there can keep you from feeling like you're at a dead end.

The most important step in dealing with unwanted information is to understand that life always moves forward. No matter how conflicted you are, what seems devastating today will be another chapter in your story tomorrow. And whether or not it is obvious at the time, every crisis is an opportunity to define yourself. We only think we want life to be easy; it's challenges make us who we are.

The Gift of Letting Go In Midlife

There is a very big gift waiting on the other end of learning how to let go when we reach middle age. The gift is an abundance of energy. In midlife, we begin to see how precious energy is and how without it, nothing else really matters. After all, who cares if you are able to amass a large sum of money if you don't have the energy to enjoy it? Who cares if you are blessed with beautiful grandchildren if you don't have the energy to get down on your hands and knees and play with them? Who cares if you live to be a hundred if your life is dull and boring?

I believe that everything is made of energy....everything. At its most primal level, everything IS energy. Even money is energy! In fact, my concept of God/ess, great mystery, spirit is Energy. I've said for a long time that God is a verb and not a noun. As human beings we are made of life force energy and are constantly being infused with it. What we do with that energy is completely up to us. We are totally in charge of it and becoming aware of it is key.

Unfortunately, when we went to school, we weren't shown this important life skill. We were memorizing dates of wars and periodic tables instead. We didn't get into the proper mindset and life enhancing habits during our first half, but we certainly can cultivate them for ourselves in midlife if it means our health, vitality, joy and abundance on all fronts.

When we hit midlife, the bare fact is that we are at a crossroads. Our energy is either going up and building us up right down to the cellular or going down and depleting us. So, when we hit midlife we have the opportunity to become our own best friend, teacher, and confidant and start taking charge of our energy. We need to do it for ourselves. Nobody can do it for us.

I love to think of it in terms of learning how to become our own midlife fairy godmothers. As we are learning to let go of people, memories, activities, guilt, shame, and blame, we are getting our wings which make us lighter in many, many ways including taking ourselves and life a lot less seriously. We need to start seeing our energetic life force as the most precious gift that we are in charge of. Where our energy is going and what we are doing with it needs to be examined if we want to live a long life full of vitality and joy till the blissful end. I call it "inner magic" because it is inner work which gives magical results.

In "Anatomy Of The Spirit", author Carolyn Myss talks about the energetics of healing. In her opinion, we can have the best tools, techniques, and healers available, but if we don't know how to take charge of our own energy, we will not heal. If we don't know how to let go of dramas (our own and those of others), if we can't forgive (ourselves and others), if we don't know how to let go and let God (and keep trying to manage the entire universe), we are digging ourselves an early grave. Healing cannot be activated unless we become energy wise.

I guess I had to learn this lesson the hard way when I bottomed out physically, emotionally, and spiritually over a decade ago. It was then that I became keenly aware of how the life force is operating within my body and when it was leaking out of me. I discovered how to plug up the leaks and started focusing on what enhanced my life force and what gave me more of it. I continue to receive lessons that seem so unfair and harsh, only to get the gift of renewed energy once I get the spiritual insight and take the necessary action.

Letting go of anything and everything that is pinching off our energy stream, allowing it to leak out of us and deplete us should be our primary focus once we hit midlife. Our entire lives should be re-examined in terms of what enhances our energy (life force, spirit/God) essence and what depletes it. In order to do this we will have to be brave and relentless as we question our preconceived assumptions and beliefs, and our investments of energy in people, situations, projects, activities, work, and ourselves. We will have to see everything through new eyes....our energetic eyes.

When we learn how to let go of our attachments to negative judgments, the desire to be right, the need for revenge, to be understood, we literally set our energy free. Forgiveness, as an example, is an amazingly kind act, but not so much for the other person as for ourselves. That's why a skilled healer will tell you that is imperative that you examine your consciousness for anyone you need to forgive before any healing can begin to take place. I used to think of it as a moral thing, but now I see it as purely an energetic thing. It's just that it's sooooo very challenging to do!!! But when you consider it in terms of your own life or death, it can help you rise to the challenge. This is the real gift in losing our health and of many other crises. They have the potential to wake us up and to help us see life in a very simplified way. It is up to us if we rise to the challenge. We are literally saving our own lives.

I've had some major challenges within the past year and I could easily feel what was happening to my energy and what I needed to do about it. I just didn't know how and so I prayed for spiritual insight and guidance. One of the challenges was ending a ten-year relationship last fall. After I ended it, I was left with a massive debt that I had no idea how I was going to pay off. I felt betrayed, lied to, and ripped off. I could feel how my victim consciousness was zapping my energy, but the facts were the facts!! Just the thought of letting go made me feel even more like a victim. It made me feel like I was giving in!

I am a woman who is proud of speaking up for herself and taking charge of her life, and this felt like the opposite. I see women allowing themselves to be doormats all the time under the guise of being spiritually advanced somehow. You know what I mean? When someone claims to have risen above the situation, but they are burning up inside. You can feel it! Carolyn Myss describes it as putting your gun down, but not the desire to shoot!! I know that kind of self deception. I've been there!! I did not want to do that any more, but didn't' know how to let go. I think of letting go as a spiritual muscle that needs to be developed.

So there I was, waking up in the middle of the night feeling angry and helpless. Planning on which lawyer to talk to next. What drove me crazy the most was that my ex felt like he was the one who was the victim. I told him to leave my home, not the other way around. There was no talking to him. It was a victim face off and I was left with what felt like a sinking ship that I had to save.

One particularly clear and uplifting Sunday morning I was reading one of my favorite mystics, Joel Goldsmith. In "Practicing The Presence" he writes; "Problems must inevitably arise, but they can only be a blessing because it is through these problems that we rise higher in consciousness and through that rising, harmony is brought into our daily life."....."As we forgive, divine love is flowing out from us. As we pray for our enemies, we are loving divinely. Praying for our friends profiteth nothing. The greatest rewards of prayer come when we learn to set aside specific periods every day to pray for those who are our enemies - not only personal enemies because there are some people who have no personal enemies, but religious, racial, or national enemies."

Immediately after that, I could feel my ex's pain and sense of betrayal by me. I could see through his eyes and feel through his heart. He appeared as a little boy in tremendous pain. I felt so much compassion that it burst my heart wide open. Everyone else who I had issues with began to come to my awareness and I experienced the same thing! I could feel the energetic release as I stayed with the feelings of understanding as I experienced the conflicts through their eyes.

"Let them have their own beliefs, assumptions, and judgments of you. Let them have their own journey. Let go of the need to be right in order to be happy," were the words that resounded in my heart. Immediately after that I could not feel one ounce of anger, condemnation, resentment, or sadness!! I felt so very light, so free, so clear! "Those fairy godmother wings are starting to feel mighty darn good," I said out loud. I felt the energy continue to cruise through my body in waves.

Letting go of trying to get others to change, to see your point of view, to right a wrong is one of the hardest things to do, but it is one of the most freeing things we will ever experience. Now that I am energetically free, the money is able to reach me. When we are pinching off our life force energy, we are putting a barrier between us and more energy in the form of loving relationships, money, and everything good that we desire. It simply cannot reach us because we have stopped the flow of life force energy. We are more concerned with being right and settling the score.

As I think about it, isn't achieving this inner peace the answer to peace on earth? As the spiritually self aware matriarchs turn into wise crones within their own lives on this planet, I predict we will begin to see the influence in the rest of the world as time goes on. But it means becoming energetically self aware and self loving enough to save our own lives first. Can we begin to see our enemies wherever they are as little children in horrific pain? I think that the consciousness on the planet has evolved enough that a handful of people are able to stretch themselves that far. I think that it only takes a handful of people to influence the consciousness on the entire planet by letting go of the barriers to their own vitality, creativity, longevity, self expression, and health no matter what it takes. The gift of letting go can go way beyond our own lives, but needs to start in our own back yard.

Are you game? Ask yourself:

What have I known I need to let go of, but haven't had the guts to...yet?
What help do I need to get in order to do it?
What do I get to hold on to by not letting it go? What's my pay off?
What kind of support will I need?
What will replace the pay off I am getting from it?
What will I say and how will I say it?
What will I do when I get a strong reaction from the other end?

Restless? Feeling the need to seek greener pastures? You're not alone. Ever since Jupiter entered Sagittarius, the sign of the traveler and the explorer, on November 23, 2006, we've all been itching to get away. You most likely have pals who've recently fled to some exotic locale or taken serious steps to find a more fulfilling career. If you're been deliberating your own move -- whether it's taking that trip to Mexico or getting an MBA -- it's crucial that you take notice of the next big astrological event: From April 5 to August 6, Jupiter is going retrograde into Sagittarius, the sign of the Archer.

What does this mean for you? Jupiter's movement through Sag means your own moving-and-shaking tendencies are sticking around. However, during the retrograde period, even the most seemingly insignificant of obstacles could throw a long-term monkey wrench into any plans you've made. Sounds sinister, but in actuality this is a positive -- not to mention cyclically natural -- opportunity for you to step back and ensure that your actions are in line with your goals. In addition, fiscal belt-tightening is in your best interest now, so think twice before maxing out your credit cards! Finances often improve when Jupiter turns direct, and new opportunities for advancement and growth will present themselves. That which is inaccessible today will prove unnecessary in the long run; further, the actual withholding will turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

Speaking of blessings, how you are faring romance-wise will certainly come into play during Jupiter's emotionally charged Sagittarian saga. But don't jump the gun in love just yet! To help you transform ripples into waves and shy away from impulsiveness during the touchy retrograde period, Ms. Laura has a special offer:

Choose between:

* Your Romantic Compatibility Reading for two and your Relationship Forecast Reading for two will highlight where you and your sweetie are making beautiful music together and where the stars may have dealt a blow. Learn how to optimize the highs and lows for maximum passion. $15 for one or both for $25

* Your Persona: Gauge your love style and use it to your advantage while soothing your inner spirit and channeling your outer hottie! Your Love Meter and your Intimacy Essentials Reading, both for one person, will give you the confidence boost you need to navigate love's unpredictable waters! Just $15

Don't let Jupiter's retrograde impede life's pleasures. Sure, it's time for introspection -- but fun is on the agenda too! In fact it's advisable that you go off your diet for a gourmet meal, or read a tabloid gossip rag. Indulge, but study the cause-and-effect patterns in your life and look for ways to improve. Then, enjoy the resulting revelations!

A whole lotta happiness is on your horizon. Here's to spring-cleaning -- psychictarotlive.com style!

Why do I always have impossible jobs/relationships?

Sometimes, it seems like luck that some people have it easy and others find themselves continually in impossible situations. But what we create in life is about just that -- what we create. In my line of work I am constantly asked "why do I always have impossible jobs/bosses/dates/relationships?" Here's the answer that I have found to be true..

The life situations that we construct usually mirror our Family of Origin, with all their complexities. If you find yourself stuck in a cycle of impossible jobs/bosses/dates/relationships, please, take a trip in time (back to your Family of Origin) and take a look at patterns you may be reliving. We all have a tendency to go back to what is familiar to us, even though it may not have been good for us. But sometimes, all it takes is a look to break the cycle and change. Other times, change requires more effort. But acknowledgment is key.

Enlightenment in this area can start life anew for you. Take a quick peek, you won't regret it!

Yoga meditation

Yoga meditation guidance was described thousands of years ago by ancient and mystical sages. Since civilized societies began to emerge, meditation has evolved into a structured practice. Although there is not a lot of recorded information dealing with the history of meditation, its roots can be traced back to ancient times.

Some meditation experts suggest thinking of your mind as a glass of muddy water and meditation helps bring clarity. Many forms of meditation result in the clearing of one's mind. Meditation promotes a sense of calm and heightened awareness. And that's the real benefit of meditation: teaching your mind to accept whatever thoughts, feelings and sensations come along, without judging them or yourself.

Scientific studies show that the regular practice of meditation can be a powerful healing tool. Meditation helps reduce stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure, and improve concentration, clarity and creativity. Additionally, many studies have shown meditation can significantly lower stress, chronic pain and anxiety.

From the dawn of time, meditation has been a vital part of self transformation and holistic health. Many physicians consider meditation a key element of an integrated health program.

Take time to Dare yourself!

Yes, I said Dare Yourself!

Finish this sentence - If I had the guts I would...

What would you do? What issues have you been silently brewing with those you work or live with would you speak up about? What changes would you make in your career, your relationships... your life? What goals would you take on and what commitments would you break off? Ahhh... if only you had the guts.

Of course whether or not you create for yourself a life that is rich and rewarding is ultimately up to you. Yes, that's right.... up to you! Of course it's much more convenient to blame your woes and lack of opportunity on your spouse, your boss, your kids, genetics or the economy or (all time favorite)... your parents but the truth is that you are always in a position to choose your experience of life. Sure sometimes life throws challenges your way you'd rather do without but whist you can't always choose your experiences in life, you always get to decide your experience of life. The problem with most folks is they are so afraid of making a mistake, looking foolish or messing up that they choose a life of mediocrity rather than risk taking on challenges that would enrich their lives immeasurably.

So what about you - what would you do IF you weren't afraid of failing, looking foolish, having an awkward confrontation, feeling inadequate or of what people might say? Whether in your relationships, your career, your community or in you life in general, your life is waiting for you to reclaim the power that your doubts and fears have been wielding and begin living it more purposefully and more courageously.

Can Moms really have it All?

4 Steps for Achieving Easy Balance

By: Kristie Tamsevicius

As a work at home mom, it can be hard to strike a balance between business and family life. Your children need you, but so do your clients. Finding that perfect balance helps reduce stress and enables you to experience more harmony in your life. But exactly how do you find that balance?

Here are 7 tips to help you achieve greater balance.

1) Dream of your perfectly balanced day. – Find a quiet place and ask yourself, “If I could have the perfect day – what would it look like?” Be very specific. What do you see, smell, feel, experience? Write it down. Make a dream map by cutting out pictures that remind you of your perfect day. Having a clear vision of what you want is the first step to creating a road map to get there.

2) Make a list of things you would like less of and more of in your life. Rate each of those likes on a scale of 1 –10 with 1 being things you like least and 10 being thing you want most.

* Write down the top 3 things you want more of in your life. Then write 1 idea of how you could get MORE of that in your life.
* Then write down the top 3 things you want less of in your life. Make a note of ways that you could have LESS of that in your life.

3) Create a daily and weekly to do lists. When you write items on this list, be sure to ask yourself, “What 3 items, if I did them would make the greatest impact with the least amount of effort?” Then write down those things. Limit it to three so your list is do-able.

* By prioritizing, you can do the things that really matter most in your work and life.

4) Review your daily top 3 priorities every morning. Consider writing them on an index card and sticking it somewhere where you’ll see it like on your computer.

Summary: You are in control of your life. With every decision you make you shape your own reality. Balance is simply a matter of knowing what you want and making good decisions. By deciding what you want, making a plan, and actively going for it, you can create the life of your dreams.

April Fools!!! YUMMY

April Fool’s Day Treats – You Are Serving WHAT For Dinner?

By: Dine Without Whine

April Fool’s Day is the perfect day to have fun with the meals you serve. Surprise your family on April 1st with these fun meal ideas.

Fake Hot Dogs And French Fries

Your kids will love fake hot dogs and French fries for lunch this April fools day. Peel a banana and spread peanut butter all over it to give it the appearance of a hot dog. Serve it in a hot dog bun with some strawberry preserve drizzled over the hotdog to make it look like ketchup.

For the fries, peel some apples and cut them into sticks resembling fresh fries. Roll them in a cinnamon and sugar mixture and bake them for 8 to 10 minutes in a preheated 400 F oven. Serve with a side of strawberry preserve as fake ketchup.
What a fun lunch.

Fool everyone in the family with these fun dinner and desert ideas. They won’t believe you are actually serving cake for dinner and spaghetti for dessert.

Cherry Cake Or Meatloaf?

Your Family will be in for a big surprise with this meatloaf cake.
Prepare your favorite meatloaf and bake it in two 9-inch cake pans. Reduce the cooking time from what you would usually cook it since the meatloaf cake is thinner.
While the meatloaf cakes are baking, prepare some creamy mashed potatoes. Spread a layer of mashed potatoes on one of the cakes and top it with the second one. Use the remaining mashed potatoes to “frost” your cake. Cut a few cherry tomatoes in half and use them to decorate the top.

Serve Spaghetti As Desert

Since your serving cake for dinner, it only makes sense to eat spaghetti for dessert. Put a slice of pound cake on a plate. Spoon some softened ice cream in a pastry bag with a thin round tip. Pipe the ice cream over the pound cake in a swirly motion to resemble spaghetti noodles. Freeze for about 15-20 minutes to allow the ice cream to harden back up. Top with strawberry jam as tomato sauce and a few coconut flakes to resemble Parmesan cheese.

Don’t Forget The Drinks

Meals like these deserve a fun twist on a beverage as well. Prepare some lemon Jello and pour it into glasses. Add a straw and let it set. It will look just like a glass of lemonade. You can even decorate the glass with a slice of lemon.

Have fun with these creative April Fool’s recipes this April 1st. They are sure to make your family smile. Enjoy!

By going on a cleanse, it is like we are giving our body a 20,000 mile tune-up -- something that every mechanic knows makes good sense. We offer you an opportunity to gently but deeply cleanse your earthly transportation -- physically, mentally and spiritually. Through the use of a variety of cleansing techniques (from herbal teas to the master cleanse to Pranayam) we will cleanse the colon and other organs and clear the dust bunnies from the psyche!
