The Beltane Fire Festival on 30th April on Calton Hill in Edinburgh 9pm to 1am [gates open 6.30pm]. This popular festival welcomes the beginning of summer in the Celtic calendar, and the driving out of winter with fire and drums. Hundreds of performers, including the May Queen with her White Women and the Green Man, lead a fire-lit procession around the hill, moving through a fire gate and round points representing earth, air, water and fire. Details to follow, prices are likely to be higher this year as the licence fee has been raised ( last year's cost: £5 on the night or £3 in advance).

The Beltane Gathering on Saturday 5th May, 6pm at The Green, St Margaret's Bay, Kent - We will be meeting on The Green at 6pm for a short walk to the ritual site. We will then find our May Queen and perform a Beltane Blessing Ritual followed as always with lots of feasting and other pagan entertainment! The Gathering is FREE, but please bring some food and drink to share with others. If possible please also bring a drum, instrument or any other kind of pagan entertainment that you would like share with others. Come dressed casually, in robes or with a crown of flowers around your head. Nothing will be expected of you at the gathering. Participate as little or deeply as you choose.
